Do you have unused art supplies lying around? Have some fun magazines to cut up? Come make multi-media Valentines with us at the WBNA!

Valentines don’t have to ONLY be about romantic love. We will start with some creative brainstorming about what we “love” and what kind of artwork you want to make. I’ll use games and chance to generate some ideas. Then we’ll get down to work.

Possible items to bring:

Watercolor paint

Watercolor paper

Magazines

Scissors

Glue sticks

Colored pencils

Pens of all types

Martha Kuhlman is Professor of Comparative Literature in the Department of English and Cultural Studies at Bryant University where she teaches courses on the graphic novel, Central European literature, and Creativity. She coedited The Comics of Chris Ware: Drawing is a Way of Thinking with the University Press of Mississippi (2010) with Dave Ball, and Comics of the New Europe (2020) with Leuven University Press. Most recently, she ran a workshop at the Prague Comics festival Frame this past November making surrealist one-panel comics, and she is eager to engage with the local community on similar projects.
