ALERT neighbors,
This week there will be TWO IMPORTANT NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS: Tonight (not tomorrow as was previously advertised by the Planning Department) is the public hearing on our neighborhood plan at the City Plan Commission meeting (Tues., Jan. 19, 4:45 pm at 400 Westminster Street.) This is your chance to give public comment on the Federal Hill and West End neighborhood plans. If you have revisions to the plan, this is your opportunity to give them.
Please read the email below from neighbor Bryan Principe, for information on an important meeting tomorrow regarding our neighborhood schools.
Thank you. Kari, WBNA
Dear friends and neighbors,
The School Department plans on presenting recommendations this week on Providence schools, including the fate of West Broadway Elementary.
The Draft Recommendations for the Updated Facilities Master Plan, which includes plans for our neighborhood schools and West Broadway Elementary, is expected to be presented by the School Department to the City Council this Wednesday (1/20) at 6:00 p.m. This will be the first public showing of the draft recommendations. Expect the draft recommendations to be made available on the School Department web site (www.providenceschools.org) soon after the presentation to the Council.
The School Department also plans on presenting the Draft Recommendations at another series of community meetings. The School Department scheduled twelve meetings during the last round of community meetings held this fall, but only six have been scheduled this time. Each meeting will cover schools located in two planning zones.
Listed below are meetings where the Draft Recommendations for the Central Planning Zone (West Side Schools) and the South Planning Zone will be presented.
Thursday, February 4th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and Roger Williams Middle School auditorium, 278 Thurbers Avenue
I will send another message as more information becomes available. Just let me know if there are any questions about saving West Broadway Elementary School.
Be Well, Bryan Principe 486-2488
